n8n
Any n8n workflow can end with a Pocketbell notification, through the HTTP Request node.
This uses an API Source.
Set it up
Section titled “Set it up”- In the Pocketbell app, create a Source named n8n, choose API, and copy its key.
- Add an HTTP Request node, and set:
- Method:
POST - URL:
https://api.pocketbell.dev/v1/messages - Authentication: Generic Credential Type, then Header Auth.
Create the credential with the name
Authorizationand the valueBearer pb_live_…. - Send Body on, Body Content Type
JSON, Specify Body Using Fields Below, with the fieldstitle, messageandpriority. Drag values from earlier nodes into them.
- Method:
- Run the node once. The notification arrives, and the node’s output shows
Pocketbell’s answer, with the notification’s
idandstatus.
How it behaves
Section titled “How it behaves”- With fields, n8n builds the JSON, so a value with quotes or line breaks
arrives as written. Writing the body Using JSON works too: put an
expression in as
{{ JSON.stringify($json.text) }}, with no quotes around it. - The key is kept in n8n’s credentials, not in the workflow, so sharing or exporting the workflow doesn’t share it.
